A Team must be at least one (1) but not more than six (6) players to complete a match.
-
If a match is called before nine holes can be completed, only the points scored on the holes completed by all players will be counted.
-
If a player leaves the course or is disqualified before the match is called, the number of holes they complete will be considered in determining the result of the match.
-
In the event of a three-way match (1 vs.2 vs.3) pair either as six (6) 3-somes, all the 1s, all the 2s, and all the 3s, or at the coaches’ discretion. There will only be two (2) total end match results.

A maximum penalty of (X) per hole is administered by the coaches at the match.
-
A tie will be decided by a scorecard playoff by calculating the total points by each team on the #1 handicapped hole. If there is still a tie, proceed to the next handicapped hole. All players (male and female) will use the same holes based on the men’s handicap.
-
Boys will score points based on Men’s Par and girls will score points based on Ladies’ Par.
-
Winter Rules:
-
In effect at the discretion of the “home” coach or course management.
-
Players may mark and clean the ball in the fairway or rough but not hazards or bunkers.
-
A properly marked ball can be moved within one club length no nearer the hole and not onto the green.
-
Once the ball is placed back on the course and the mark removed it becomes “in play”.
-
Range Finders/Distance Measuring Devices
-
Distance Measuring Devices are allowed for play in MTJAL league matches and practices.
-
As distance is public information, players who have them are encouraged to share the device or yardage information.
-
Distance Measuring Devices that calculate the slope must have the setting turned off or the device cannot be used.
-
Behavior Guidelines:
-
Proper attire: collared shirt, no denim, walking shorts are okay
-
Proper etiquette by all coaches, players, and spectators.
-
Pace of Play:
-
Pace of play is important in securing enjoyment for youth golfers, coaches, and parents. Coaches are responsible for educating their players during practices, matches, etc. on this importance and how they can assist.
-
Location of golf bags on greens/next tee, when it’s okay to continue walking, when to write scores on the scorecard, etc., are all examples of how this will keep the game moving and enjoyable for all.
